Rubbish Boy's Original Edition

Got my new Nerta commercial foaming detergent... got to try it out! So another very early Saturday morning for me. Here are a couple of pictures of how embarrassingly dirty the Euro has gotten. It's wearing a couple of layers of Collinite Marque D'Elegance Wax and Collinite Liquid Insulator Wax since my last detail.

Ok enough blah blah blahs and on to the some before pictures.

The car was generally covered with similar dirt and grime on the rest of the panels. So then, on to the washing, a pre-rinse stage then on to a foam bathe session with my new Nerta detergent. Foamed the car and let dwell for a couple of minutes.

The rims, tyres and wheel wells were foam as well. This should be a good test of the Nerta's cleaning ability.

Trying to capture the dirt shifting off off the car, but I guess it wasn't all that dirty eh?

Admitted I reckon I should have used a slightly more concentrated mix of the Nerta, but anyhows we'll see how it goes... I could always foam the car again!! =D

Next, rinsed the car with medium pressure. I thought I should also mention that there is online debate over the strength of the Nerta's cleaning ability being too strong and degrading wax layers. A general guide for most of us to gauge whether there still is wax protection is from the water beading. Nice tight beads you find on a freshly wax surface should still be present to indicate that there still is protection. I know of products that can inhibits rust on metal, but have poor beading characteristics. Go figure....

However, the Euro came up with mixed results. Nice tight water beading.

So it seems that the Nerta doesn't affect the wax protection... or does it? Well the follow shots seem to show a slight degrading of the water beads. This indicates to me that some of the wax probably got stripped off. This Nerta is pretty strong stuff...

But look at them rims! Touchless cleaning of the rims removing all the brake dust and grime. Impressive, that'll save me a lot of time. This is where the Nerta shined.

Once the car has been properly rinsed off. It was rolled in to the garage to be dry. because it was starting to kick up a breeze outside. Windy days are not good washing days. The usual drying towel and some QD for the drying process.

Leaving me with this...

Since the Nerta stripped a bit off the Collinites I decided to treat the Euro to something very special and here is it...

Rubbish Boy's Original Edition a GBP40 wax! What makes it even more special is that I am the very first one in the entire Australia to own this wax. Now that's special!

And the microfiber cloth is comes with is ULTRA PLUSH so plush you can sleep with! Hahahah... You're only looking at a 40cm x 40cm cloth and it is as thick as the height of the jar! I actualy leave my handprints on this cloth whilst buffing off.

Just a quick history of this wax. This wax is a homemade wax success story, the owner himself researched and blended different ingredients over several months, before creating a product that was satisfatory to him. It were through multiple recipes, looks comparision testing as well as durability tests.

Application of this wax is a tad special it requires hand application. So I covered every inch of the car with my bare hands, creating a weaving finger pattern as I went along for best coverage. it was surprisingly enjoyable.

Buffing off was required a bit of elbow grease, it was then I realised I actaully slapped on far too much wax. This wax really redefines what thin really is!

As I was getting in and out of the house, I was unknowingly waxing the door knob at the same time...hahaha...

Unfortunately, the weather not where impressive enough for me to take any outdoor shots. So I'll leave you with this teaser till the next post.

Overall, I am impressed with Nerta's cleaning ability, it's every bit as good as others have said. However, i found that it does strip a bit of the wax away. Maybe it'll be more suited for car's requiring a proper wash and wax.

And for the Rubbish Boy's Original Edition, it's a truly brilliant wax. It's not the easiest wax to apply and it's not for everyone, but that's what makes it all the more special. If you're are like me, then you'll know how boring applying wax can be sometime. This wax adds a bit of challenge and fun, but the rewards is astounding! The looks of this wax is tremendous, it have an extremely deep thick wet look to it. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves in my next post...

But for now I'll leave you with this link. Check out the Gallery section.
